Etterna won't run well unless I plug in my laptop

As the title of this post says, the game just won’t run well at all if my laptop is not charging. There are constant frame drops, the notes (or anything that moves a lot) has choppy rendering, and there is a delay of what I assume to be half a second on any and all keyboard inputs, effectively rendering the game unplayable. I already looked through some Reddit posts to try and solve this issue, since I’m admittedly not good with tech at all, and tried to change the battery settings to manage processing energy, but it just won’t work. Etterna is the only game i’ve seen with these issues, so I kinda doubt that my laptop is at fault here.

Are there any in-game settings that could possibly help minimize this problem? Or does it lie on something else? Many thanks!

this is by design.

try lowering the framelimit to a number that can be reasonably reached in gameplay. you will want to turn on the fps counter to check that. you could also just turn on vsync if you are lazy

when unplugged, the power settings of the computer probably lower the cpu power or use the integrated graphics instead of dedicated if that exists
