EtternaOnline Keyboard Pack 1 + 2 (Submissions Closed)

The Final Song ~ Black Song White Scales (James May) - I haven’t given it a thorough look, but from watching someone else playtest it, it looks very cool and well put. Though, the one hand trills seem very , but not enough to warrant a Conditional fix, I think.

Conditional:
Borsalino (ricetoast) - (Focusing on the hardest diff, but the easier one may have these issues as well) This is an amazing song choice for the pack. I’d really like to accept it, since the chart has a lot of potential. However, in its current state, it suffers from overly ghosted notes and dumpy patterns in many sections.

Similar to your previous submissions, it feels like you’re going the extra mile adding extra notes and hybrid-style dump patterns to emphasize certain parts. This is especially true in the second half, where the chart starts to lose its connection to the song and doesn’t hold up well from a technical standpoint. I’d recommend simplifying and cleaning up those sections so they represent the music more accurately and feel more intentional. (The easier difficulty removes some of the ghost notes, which is a step in the right direction toward simplifying and cleaning up sections). If this is fixed, that would be enough for me to pass it.

I also got feedback from Martzi, and she had similar thoughts to mine on her first point:

Feedback from Martzi:
-Both difficulties suffer from quite major ghost note usage that doesn’t quite fit with what this pack is aiming for stylistically. (Especially in the second half)
-The usage of flat jumps/hands to sounds that sound very much so like they should be flams/graces throughout the chart, while a stylistic choice I understand, detracts from the overall feel of the chart, I personally think.
-There’s lots of notes that are 192nd off sync (Sometimes a bit more), its not major, but worth mentioning, its very common throughout the entire chart in both difficulties, but its not enough that people will notice ingame unless they’re going for very high quads.

Love the concept of the chart, I just think it needs polish for the execution. I would comment on everything being 12th/24ths but I can tell that’s intentional quantisation (Most likely to make it harder to acc) instead of keeping it rainbow.

Chiruno no kazu no ue de (Ria) - It looks alright and I’m more or less fine with passing it. I think however there are a bit too many ghosted 16th patterns in the chart and you need to curate them more carefully. Before you jump in and try to fix that, I’m gonna get some more opinions on it.

Rejected:
fahrradsattel (fantasy remix) [TakisEater] - This is a dump chart. This pack is focused on technically accurate / conventional simfiles, and this chart is not suitable for this pack. I encourage you to read the submission rules again and submit something more appropriate.

Also for future submissions, please properly name your folder like this: <song name> (<charter/mapper name>)

Passed Charts:
Airborne Robots (Gtexchus)

Borsalino (ricetoast) - Very good changes to the original difficulty. Please give me a cdtitle for your chart though or I’m just gonna use the one from Valed.

ra’am (Xll)

TI Player Data (Dash-)

Trick Room (Agyll)

flower (Klover44) - Would be cool to keep represnting the low end bass at the near ending.

Heterodoxy (Tortualex)

Rejected:
Serenade of a Red Moon of Adulthood (TakisEater) - Unfortunately I’m gonna reject this one because given that the loop is very short, the repetitiveness of the patterns get too boring after a point, and they’re still not that correct to the song (lots of ghosted / arbitrary notes). Plus the quantization is not fully correct (correct quantization is when the note starts at the 4th [red note]). You definitely had the right idea when sending this to the pack though.

Alright it’s time to finally say it:

Submissions are now closed! New submissions and fixes are no longer being accepted, unless special circumstances happen. (not enough files or urgent fixes, etc)

If you haven’t had time to submit, don’t worry, EOKP3 may happen in the not-so distant future. Time to prepare those other charts you haven’t had time to finish!

Everyone can send their remaining, or rejected, files to me because I am such a nasty little vulture.

(This is a joke…or is it???)
(It is.)

This will be the last update for this thread. The pack work is finally done! All charts are complete and a song list has been decided for both packs. Expect a release very soon.
