Can I play Etterna without having an EtternaOnline account?
Yes. Etterna is an offline game. Everything you do on Etterna is saved locally in your game folder.
An EtternaOnline account is not required, but it is beneficial if you want to track your scores on the website and use some features that require an account.
It is also beneficial to create an EO account in order to participate in EtternaOnline events that may require you to post with an account (such as the Charting Secret Santa events).
What happens if I don’t log into online?
If you choose to play Etterna offline and not log in, you won’t be able to:
- View simfile leaderboards on ranked packs
- Submit your scores on ranked simfile packs
- View your online profile stats & global leaderboards rank
You can still use these features even without an EtternaOnline account:
- In-game pack downloads
- Bundle downloader
- Mutiplayer (third party servers only)
- Anything that’s local (your scores, replays, goals, favorites)
