osu!, a “keyboard and mouse”-based “tablet”-based VSRG HSRG depth-scrolling rhythm game rhythm game video game, known for it’s aggressive accuracy-based gameplay, its impact in the “keyboard and mouse”-based “tablet”-based VSRG HSRG depth-scrolling rhythm game rhythm game video game genre subgenre sphere, and saturation in the rhythm game space.
A bowl of cereal, world renown for its impact on humanity breakfast situation, its unique development from its grains roots such as oats to cardboard, and also its impact on heighten concerns over human obesity and health, can be compared to such a game like osu!.
While ridiculous at first, let me explain why it is a factually true statement.
osu! and a bowl of cereal can both positively and negatively impact a person. Cereal is good as a breakfast, as it allows you to get your morning jolt in place and over time provide energy to consumer, allowing for a positive experience that helps a person in this world. It is also good as a food supplement since it provides nutrients, such as iron, fiber, sugar, and cardboard. osu! is good in a similar way. It allows a person to calm down, using a game of reaction time and rhythm that also helps with vision, hearing, and rhythmetic recognition. In general, osu! is beneficial in moderation, along with cereal. Unfortunately though, osu1 and a bowl of cereal can also cause health issues if you are not moderating your consumption. Health issues that can occur from cereal is as follow: obesity, cardiovascular issues, high sugar contents, high sodium content, high fat content. Clearly cereal isn’t the most reliable food source unless you seek out very specific brands or are aware of certain brands that provide nutrients that is beneficial to you in the long run. With osu! it’s very similar, with beatmaps being possibly beneficial, but most content has been filtered into generic, unhelpful beatmaps that may possibly reduce a player’s development in game. This can also bleed into a person’s health as well, as overconsumption of osu! may reduce a person’s physical activity, may cause addiction, and possibly erode social integration.
There’s also the consideration of osu! and cereal being closely linked by how they are accepted in this world. Despite osu1 and cereal being frowned upon in society for either health or social-related reasons, they are still consistently forced upon people, with it usually appearing as the only choice, or even appearing as the true breakfast or the game to get into rhythm games. You might even say that osu! is the cereal of the rhythm games, or that cereal is the osu! of breakfast. They are clearly the most tempting.
I know that people will disagree, saying that a bowl of factory-made cardboard oat rings with a mother’s liquid from the teat cannot just be simply compared to a C# game with genericized data to denote rhythm full of Dean “peppy” Herbert & co.'s code, stating that I am, in fact, a heretic for stating that there’s a dynamic duo so powerful that even Sugar Co. would call it their parents?
Can’t you see? It is in front of us this whole! We have been played!
