Funhouse [Rasura] is BACK - REBRANDED AS FUNHOUSE [RASURA] (WIP DOWNLOAD)

REVIVAL

Give a person a creative jail for months and this is what they come up with. An esoterically existential chart philosophy that’s interwoven into the source code of the step .sm-ulation. At least that is what I previously made it out to be.

9 Months of Hiatus, with access to no tool to charting or to rhythm games. Left somewhat of a bittersweet note across my synaesthetic palate; sonic soundscapes start to unstring themselves as woven courses of slaps to my face anytime I realize I approached charting the wrong way. Through the initial stages I itched to crawl back on to the makeshift laboratory just to rework the foundations of a jenga bomb that seemed to collapse at any time. I was too invested into the world of charts that I forgot about myself along the way… then I thought to myself:

To hell with it.

This paved the way with plastic stone and paper-mache mortar my horseshoe of a charting presence; that the editor is my world and my world is ridiculous. So why not share it with the rest of the community?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is Funhouse [Rasura], a collaborative pack directed by me, Melody, to celebrate charting as a medium that tagged along with me throughout my years. The objective of this pack is to show off something misanthropic; be comfortable with throwing your “worst” out there. I have learned that having the ability to be confident about your work, by yourself, is important; I have also learned that appealing to those ideas loosely in an antithetical approach yields some of the craziest results.

Anticultural. Antimusical. Anticharts. Antianything.

Charts yielding these qualities extensively to the point where it horseshoes into being a standoffish chart from its absurdities; a post-modern suite to be more or less a hypermockery of music and charts.

Information

Funhouse [Rasura] is a semi-private, open-pack submission where invitations will be sent out upon clearance. If you believe to have a chart that fits the ideals of my pack, then please do not hesitate to reach out on the forums or in Discord (complextronica).

Submissions upon clearance will go through QC/QA in two stages up to a mutual agreement i; the first one is with my initial interpretations of the chart, and the second one is if and only if it was rejected the initial time after discussion.

With some help, the rest I will direct and handle.

UPDATE 1

Howdy, it has been three weeks since the initial revival of Funhouse [Rasura]. Some changes around here and there have been made to help get the pack accelerating back to a manageable pace. As of now, there are 15 complete drafts inside the Funhouse.

To summarize the past three weeks, with the help of Davix, a lot of the general workings and management of the pack submissions and chart processing have been updated to be more transparent, efficient, and organized for those involved with the pack.

  • The Discord server now has a forum established to keep individualized records and management for each finished draft of a chart. Forums will be used to help keep notes and tagging for each chart.
  • The spreadsheet is now updated to reflect the progress of a chart, e.g., metadata, GFX, etc. These tags are representative of the tagging system used in the abovementioned forums.

I want to also help clarify how the process of chart submission should look, as we have some submissions pooling in!
There are two stages to how charts are processed; QA and QC. To me, QA is more intrinsic to the chart’s idea than it is foundational, whereas QC is more of the polishing for the foundationals and beyond-the-chart. Soft methods beat brute force; however, brute force cuts through soft methods, so you need both. You need assurance for control. QA is where charts get pooled and QC is where charts get finalized/“complete”.

What does this mean for you?
All you have to worry about is sending the chart and that’s it. If it gets pooled, and eventually finalized, I will handle everything else. Judgement is between me and Davix, and submissions for pooling are determined based off multiple factors. More generally, it has been a consensus between us two that we look for placement within the pack narrative, exhibition of abstracted ideas and flow, general execution of nifty song choices, or creative outputs. If it’s fun or foolish, then send it our way.

The judgement window is going to be lengthy, i.e., two or more weeks, to get feedback on a chart from a happenstance we check the charts thoroughly. Funhouse [Rasura] is a long-term pack after all, and there is no rush. Upon having a chart accepted and pooled, you will receive an invite to the Discord server, where you can check out other drafts and submit your work more accordingly to the pack.

If you submit a chart and would like to make revisions prior to receiving comments, then feel free to send updates of the chart; contact me on Discord (complextronica) or on the Forums.

P.S., Thank you Davix for keeping me on track. This pack has been going well due to your inputs and help :fist:
