Hi ! My game doesn’t work well each time I want to stream or save a video with OBS. I tried everything with the setup (frame limit, vsync, software’s priority, …), but nothing can fix the problem.
And with a Intel 7 processor and a RTX 3060 Nvidia card, I definitely think my computer can run the game nicely, even with OBS working ! ^^
So, thanks in advance if you can tell me what I need to do.
how much fps is it losing
It’s hard to explain, because the game itself doesn’t loose fps (it stays always at 60 fps), but sometimes it clearly has frame jumps, and only the game has the problem. On OBS, the replay video looks almost normal.
And when I tried to capture my screen with both OBS and webcam, I realized something : the game has frame jump only when Etterna is the active screen ! When I switch to another window, the game suddently runs well.
i am still not sure if the game is having stutter issues or refresh rate issues. you can know more information if you have the ingame fps counter and lag box opened. these are in the f3 f5 and f3 f8 menus. the fps counter must be opened to see the lag box. remember 1ms lag is 1000 fps and what im interested in is if it says something like > 50ms
It’s indeed over 50ms ; sometimes it’s 200ms, sometimes it’s 1900ms, and the highest was over 60000ms ! And when I press repeatedly, I’m between 100ms and 133ms.
laptop power settings? gpu changing power/clock due to underuse?
since you have the lag box working, is the fps like actually at a consistent cap of 1000 besides the stuttering? or is vsync on and forcing the limit to something else
GPU power is between 100 and 170 W. I can’t change it, but it looks normal.
FPS is always capped to 60.
Vsync is on, but I don’t play fullscreen. Btw, it’s a way worse when Vsync is off.
ok so what is the fps cap and general behavior (average fps) when you arent using vsync
It’s always 60 (59 for average), as I put this fps limit on my NVIDIA settings.
I have this problem when I share the exclusive screen of the etterna window on Discord, but when I stream the entire screen, it works fine.
