This will be under the assumption you are on the Rebirth theme, since you should be on Rebirth by default.
1) You need to actually play a song to save your settings. You can’t just set them and close the game. Alternatively, you can use
Ctrl+S to save your profile on the song wheel. 2. “I’m lagging” is not really something that can be given an easy solution too. By default, you should be on 1,000 FPS and not utilizing Vsync—a typical feature which causes input delay. Common things you can do to lower your PC load would be to close out all other applications, and open the settings cogwheel on song select under graphics, then continue to half the gameplay frame rate until it feels stable. You could also use this tab to enable exclusive full screen, which may increase performance and reduce latency on lower spec systems. You can also lower your screen and texture resolutions, to make each frame rendered take less effort, at the expense of it looking worse.
3. From song select, use the settings cogwheel on the top right and navigate to the graphics tab, ensure full screen is the display option chosen. There are two settings: borderless, and exclusive. Exclusive may feel more responsive for lower spec systems, but is the one which kind of sucks if you have multiple monitors, or want to ever tab out of the game. Borderless is basically full screen windowed, so it works a lot nicer, but it doesn’t get those performance boosts.
4. You should only be seeing this in the start menu options, and it is for changing how many keys you are playing with. The default is
dance, which is 4k. There are also other modes, such as pump (5k), and solo (6k). Don’t change from 4k unless you explicitly download packs for another keymode, and want to play them. Solo is our second largest chart collection, if that interests you.
