Since I’m able to watch a replay directly within etterna, is that video also saved locally on my PC? When I check the “ReplaysV2” folder, I can’t tell which file is which replay, and they’re not any sort of video file either. What am I missing? I’m new and still trying to wrap my head around everything.
the replay files exist so that the game can play back a score as it was set. there is no video and the game cant generate one for you. you can play the replay ingame and record it on your own with separate software
If it saved a video of every score you set, that would be both very large, and also very unusable for Etterna. They aren’t videos, they are text files with information about how you played the song. This is not only substantially smaller, but also means you can play them back with different settings, rates, or judgments; they can be inspected by others on EO too.

Ooh gotcha. So there’s no way to get them besides recording them yourself? Can you download files off the website from your profile?
the website can serve replays that have been uploaded, to be watched ingame directly from the leaderboards ingame. but other than that there is nothing you can actually download for your profile. for now
