Ranked packs on EtternaOnline allow players to track their scores online and compare their progress with other online players.

We’re generally lenient and accept almost everything, but there are a few fundamental guidelines that every pack must follow. If a pack does not meet these requirements, it will be rejected from ranking.

Basic Quality Assurance

  • The pack(s) must be considered complete and should not require any additional updates in the future. Ongoing packs or incomplete ones are not eligible to be ranked.

  • The pack(s) must be properly formatted and organized. Packs containing simfiles with no graphics (banner & background), inaccurate sync and/or incomplete metadata may not be eligible to be ranked.

  • The pack(s) must not contain simfiles made for commercially produced games (e.g. DDR, ITG, Bemani, etc). Fan charts are acceptable.

  • Packs that the majority of files are live recorded (CTRL+R), will not be ranked. Live recorded files refer to charts made purely by pressing the keys down in the editor while the song is playing in the process. This often results in very poorly made off-sync files.

Ranking Quality Assurance

  • The pack(s) must not contain simfiles made to deliberately abuse the game and/or the website.

  • Packs with particularly offensive music, as well as offensive / malicious graphics, metadata, easter eggs, etc, can be grounds for a pack to not be ranked.

  • Packs with particularly explicit NSFW graphics, can be grounds for a pack to not be ranked.

  • Packs that the majority of files are nearing 40 MSD are not eligible to be ranked.

Converts & Permissions

  • If your pack(s) contain simfiles converted from other games such as osu!mania, Quaver, etc. It is on the sole responsibility of the submitter to exhaustively verify all such converts have obtained permission by the involved charters prior to requesting rank.

  • Converted simfiles in packs that were not explicitly permitted by the original charter(s) will render the entire pack ineligible for ranking.

  • Converted simfiles should be TRIPLE CHECKED to ensure they meet the above quality standards before requesting rank. Recently, there has been an increase in poorly compiled converted packs from other games (including issues with offset, sync, BPM, snaps, etc.). Remember, conversions are never 100% perfect and will require modifications to function as intended.

Miscellaneous

  • If you are a pack author, we highly recommend waiting at least a couple days before requesting ranking, in case of a critical mistake that needs updating.
  • If you are not the owner, try not to submit brand new packs right away. Rankings are supposed to be for finalized works. Packs often get a patch in the first few days.

  • We reserve the right to deny packs from ranking for any other reason that may or may not be covered in the guidelines.

  • Users who repeatedly violate these guidelines or attempt to circumvent them maliciously may have their request privileges revoked or, in the worst case, be permanently banned from the website.
