On EtternaOnline, a ranked pack allows players to track scores on the website and compare progress with other online players. The packs are curated based on requests from the community.
We are generally lenient and accept almost everything, but there are a few requirements that every pack must follow. If a pack does not meet these requirements, it will be rejected from ranking.
These guidelines mainly apply to recent Etterna packs, though some rules may apply to older or non-Etterna packs.
Before submitting a pack for ranking, it must follow these rules:

The pack must finalized and should not require any future updates.

The pack must be properly formatted and organized.

The pack must not contain simfiles made for commercially produced games.

The pack must not contain primarily live recorded / CTRL+R simfiles.

The pack must not contain generative simfiles created using tools or models trained on existing simfiles.

If a pack contains simfiles converted from a non-StepMania rhythm game (such as osu!mania or Quaver) you must obtain permission from the respective charters/mappers for all said files/maps in the pack.

If you request an ITG pack, it must be synced to NULL offset only.
A pack may be rejected from ranking if it has one or more of the following issues:

The charts are incorrectly synced, snapped, offset, and/or overall improperly converted to StepMania/Etterna. (This thread provides a good guide for properly syncing converted charts.)

The pack is not zipped correctly or the folder and zip names do not match.

The pack has missing/blank graphics, metadata, etc.

The pack has pre-rated charts of already existing ranked charts.

The pack has offensive, malicious, explicit, or inappropriate content.

The pack has particularly explicit and/or inappropriate NSFW graphics.

The pack has charts that are designed to abuse the game or website.

The pack has charts where most of them are reaching 40 MSD.

Any other issues at the rankers’ discretion.
Additional important info:

Packs may be removed from the website even after ranking if issues are discovered.

Only request packs you have played or intend to play on Etterna.

Pack authors should wait a few days before requesting ranking in case updates/patches are needed.

If you are not a pack author, try not to request brand new packs right away. Packs often get a patch in the first few days.
Where to request a pack for ranking?
Submit ranking requests through our Discord server in the #pack-ranking channel. New ranked packs are announced in #ranking-updates and on the website homepage.
