A continuation to the first Chiaroselections pack, full of rice charts I made from last year until now! Mostly CJ, streams, and technical stuff.

Hope y’all enjoy!

Hello, I’m Eggsauce, I do pack overviews where I check for potential issues in recently released packs. I am not a ranker, so I do not have the final say in whether or not your pack is rankable, I simply do this as a hobby. I am also one person and I may make mistakes or miss things, so always give your packs a double check just in case. Thanks!

[Note] Osu Intros are when you have a file that has 10+ seconds of nothing before the actual file starts. (Note that audio does not count towards this. So if there is audio but no notes, mines, or anything, it’s still an Osu intro) This will not prevent your pack from being ranked, but it is considered annoying, so it should still be looked at it. Light Osu intro = very close to being an Osu intro and should still be looked at.

Wrong offset = file is offsync, and you just need to maybe adjust the offset to fix it.

Chiaroselections II overview:
(If I don’t mention a file, then I saw nothing wrong with it)

  • Ai Ni: Light Osu intro, Just ALMOST hitting the 10 second point of nothing before the chart begins.
  • Disco: Wrong offset. Non-static bpm that causes the chart to stay offsyn throughout most of it.
  • EXECUTIONER: Light Osu Intro.
  • Hysteria: Non-static BPM, fluctuating between onsync and slightly offsync.
  • Mimika Euphorica: Slightly wrong offset.
  • Oboo: Non-static BPM, but this time it is EXTREMELY MINOR and shouldn’t really cause too many issues as it fluctuates between being on sync and being very slightly off sync. Not a huge deal this time, but it’s there.
  • Runaway Baby: Non-static BPM.
  • Stacy’s Mom (Dan Larkin Remix): Osu intro: 10 seconds of nothing before the chart starts.
  • The HampsterDance Song: Light Osu intro.

I hope you get a chance to look at these, and good luck on your future endeavors!

Thanks so much for the feedback! The pack’s ranked now, but I do have my inputs here.

In some charts I intentionally left out the intro due to the intro being either too quiet to place notes or I just can’t find good placements for notes; but in EXECUTIONER’s case it’s a guest diff from Quaver where the original mapper left out the intro. Some of these charts are ranked on Quaver so I thought that there are no major problems so it should be good to be put in the pack, as for Runaway Baby, the BPM’s stable but the waveform isn’t because I assume the song’s not recorded perfectly in tempo/on beat but it’s prolly aight, Hysteria’s tempo is also unstable but AV’s BPM detector found a tempo good enough to map the song on without causing major sync issues. I didn’t really notice Disco’s problems until now :sob: but I hope it isn’t that bad cuz the pack is ranked already ;v;

Once again I know I’m not that much of a professional in charting and I could still let these mishaps free lol

Thanks again for the feedback!

  • The issue with Runaway Baby is I have tried to chart it before, and it is definitely nonstatic-bpm. I would know in this exact instance because I have properly synced the song myself. Some of these “sync issues” aren’t a huge deal, but attempting to patch them out anyways is usually a good idea. It gives you experience, and the small sync issues are not too hard to fix, so the more you do it, the more you’ll be able to take on harder sync-related challenges.
  • Regarding Osu intros, if you don’t think you can bring out the intro of a song in anyways, you should just cut it and have it fade in. Osu has a skip button, and I assume quaver does too. We, however, do not. So if we’re restarting multiple times, those 10+ seconds can add up, turning into 40+ seconds, for example. This issue won’t prevent your pack from being rankable, unless it’s genuinely horrid, but it’s still an annoying problem that happens often enough that I feel the need to point it out.

With that said, take my advice with a grain of salt. I’m not expecting perfection nor am I requesting such, do what you wanna do! As long as you’re having fun charting, keep doing it, and if you have any questions or need help, you can dm me on here or on discord!
