Download link here in case the banner doesnt work / There’s all type of maps here, a lot of chordjack and js/hs tho, download to find them all as they are pretty good if i say it myself (a friend of hachy and a fan of her work)
ALMOST 200 CHARTS, BEING EXACTLY 195
Shoutout to Lenny_cL, OsuUser2 and of course H4chyk0’s being the main meal for lettin me use their maps (even some unsubmitted hachy ones!) and let even more people play them!
Trying to get this ranked as it is up to etterna standars if im not wrong so any bug pls let me know and ill try to fix it, try cuz this is my first time lol
Since you mentioned this is a map pack, please double-check all your files’ offsets, sync, BPM, etc., and ensure they are all properly edited. Since you likely converted them from another game, remember that conversions are never 100% perfect and may require you to edit them to function correctly.
(This is an automated post. If you already know this or you didn’t actually do any conversions, then you can ignore this comment.)
While you’re waiting for Eggsauce’s overview (as they’ll be going more in-depth over the charts than I will be), I decided to take a quick look at the pack. There are a lot of basic problems that at its current state makes it ineligible to be ranked:
First of all, did you get permission to have all these charts/maps ranked on EO? We expect that you have obtained full permission from the original charters to do that.
The other problems with the pack are:
Conversion problems with some charts that were glanced over, like Dead Dreaming (Eggsauce will hopefully cover the full list of problematic charts).
FUTURE ARGENTIANS is just IcyWorld’s Future Dominators chart but with a different audio.
Overall neglectible representation of the pack:
None of the files have proper banners so they all just use the osu backgrounds. I understand that osu does not have a concept of banners, but on Etterna/StepMania, banners are a common integral part of a GFX set. I know that asking to make proper banners is a tall order, so just make a copy of the background with proper
crops to them where they fit the 16:5 aspect ratio Etterna is using. Tips for banners on the discord server
None of the difficulties have assigned numbers so they all just default to 1. Not a huge deal, but it’s a noticable detail that’s easily skipped over and shows imporper organization of the pack imo. Just slap the MSD number on them or make up your own ratings if you want.
Bad metadata on some files, like The Real Lavadora.
Probably more stuff, but I forgot for now.
I recommend for now going over the representation points I wrote and try to work on them more, as it’ll make the pack much more appealing to download in the case it gets ranked.
Yes, I got permission. Do I have to send a screenshot of them saying they actually let me use their charts to make this pack?
Yeah, DeadDreaming broke for some reason when I converted it, and I completely forgot about it while converting the rest of the charts. I’ll fix it after Egg’s overview.
I’ll talk with Hachy about FUTURE ARGENTINIANS, but I’ll probably take it down since, yeah, it’s basically the same chart lol.
Also, do the banners really have to be cropped? I mean, I’ve seen multiple packs using the same full image, sometimes even a bit stretched and and on rare occasions a lot
And about the numbers, do they really even matter? I mean, as a player (not a charter), I never pay attention to those little numbers; I just look at the MSD, and that’s it. That’s why I left it like that. But if it’s really a problem, I’ll fix it after Eggsauce’s overview and after addressing the issues he mention.
Not necessarily. I’m gonna trust your word on it, just wanted to know out of curiosity.
Yes, if you don’t have proper (cropped) banners, the game will make them stretch to fit and look extremely grainy and low quality (which is exactly what’s happening now). If you don’t care about that then that’s up to you, but it does make the pack’s overall representation less appealing.
Yes, they do in fact matter. Historically, prior to Etterna, people relied on the difficulty numbers assigned by the chart artist to determine how hard a file was. After MSD became a thing, people kind of stopped filling them in, and it became a small (but still important to some) detail that many now overlook. It’s still important to fill for a few reasons:
You’d have a good estimate of how difficult the chart will be when you look at it outside of Etterna and the MSD calc. (such as if you browse it in ArrowVortex or SMO)
Sometimes you’d wanna let people know what you think is the real MSD difficulty of it, if you believe the calc is underrating or overrating it.
Once the pack gets mirrored to SMO, there’s a difficulty distribution meter that reads the numbers set in the chart’s difficulty. If you leave them all defaulted to 1, it will look wrong and neglected overall.
Example of an Etterna pack that is using the numbers vs. one that does not.
It’s just really not hard to do, takes exactly 5 seconds and then you save it.
